Outreach Programme

BAD-NHCC-Logo-Transparent

We run an extensive outreach programme in collaboration with organisations such as hospitals, universities, colleges, schools and charities. All our workshops are delivered at no cost to students, in keeping with our aim to widen participation.

Here are examples of workshops and masterclasses we run:

  • Applying to Medicine
  • Becoming A Doctor Clinical Skills
  • Preparing for the UKCAT
  • Preparing for the BMAT
  • How to make the most of your work experience?
  • Learning to develop reflective skills
  • Writing your personal statement
  • MMI and Traditional Interviews

We are happy to tailor our session to your requirements and can run these during the school day, a lunchtime, after school or on the weekend.

We encourage local schools to collaborate to hold a session so we can engage as many students as possible.

Would you like us to visit your hospital, charity, school or college? Get in touch with the team!

Elliot

Elliot is a St George’s graduate currently working as an F1 Doctor in East London. As the first in his family to apply to university, Elliot is well aware of the barriers that can be faced in trying to get to medical school. He is passionate about widening access to medicine for underrepresented groups.

He was the representative for St George’s on the BMA Medical Students Committee, and has done lots of work with local schools and colleges to raise awareness of medicine as a career, as well as working on admissions policies with the widening participation team St George’s. Elliot is part of the @BecomingaDr outreach team and National Health Careers Conference Team.
