About

BAD-NHCC-Logo-Transparent

We are a volunteer-led organisation supporting aspiring and current medical students as well as newly qualified doctors.

All resources and support are free to access in keeping with our goal to widen participation. Our work has been featured and published by BBC News, BBC Radio, Newspapers as well as in journals including the British Medical Journal, Future Healthcare Journal and Medical Education. Established in the UK, our global network continues to grow through collaborations and partnerships.

The team organise the UK’s leading National Health Careers conference, workshops and masterclasses to support aspiring and and current healthcare professionals. We are proud to work with organisations including NHS England, Health Education England, General Medical Council, Medical Schools Council, British Medical Association, British Medical Journal, Royal Colleges and several Universities.

We have several active projects with over 200 ambassadors involved. These include a dedicated outreach programme, medical education resources, careers advice, portfolio development, digital health education, national question bank, online tutorials and social media advocacy.

The team includes healthcare professionals, students and advisors determined to widen access and deliver outreach activities, working with organisations including schools, charities, universities, hospitals, local authorities, regulators and royal colleges.  We believe anyone interested in pursuing a career in medicine and wider health professions should have the support and opportunity to do so.

Please feel free to get in touch.

Best wishes,

Becoming A Doctor Team

Elliot

Elliot is a St George’s graduate currently working as an F1 Doctor in East London. He is passionate about widening access to medicine for underrepresented groups.

He was the representative for St George’s on the BMA Medical Students Committee, and has done lots of work with local schools and colleges to raise awareness of medicine as a career, as well as working on admissions policies with the widening participation team St George’s. Elliot is part of the @BecomingaDr outreach team and National Health Careers Conference Team.
